I like the show 77 Sunset Strip! In fact I was just watching it recently! So weird! It's like when I recently got Roger Moore's Kindle book because it was on sale at Amazon for only 99 cents shortly BEFORE he died. RIP! :-(
Sad!!! :-( I also, liked the show 77 Sunset Strip!!! Weird that you were just watching it recently!! :-( Yeah, just like when you recently got Roger Moore's Kindle book because it was on sale at Amazon for only 99 cents shortly Before he died, too. That IS Weird!! BTW, nice price for That kindle book!!
RIP Roger Smith! :-(
Hey Beatlebob! Yes, there's some episodes of "77 Sunset Strip" on DailyMotion. It's not in the best quality, but still better than nothing and at least it's free. The site called Warner Archive Instant had full seasons of it in high quality but it was $10 a month to see. They also have "Surfside 6" and "Hawaiian Eye" streaming too. None of those shows are on DVD yet. I've always wanted to see a TV show called "Bourbon Street Beat" which I heard is similar to "77 Sunset Strip". Have you ever seen or heard of that? Hopefully it will finally surface on DVD someday too. Yeah, I really did get a good bargain on that Kindle book. I also bought a few other celebrity autobiography Kindle books on Amazon that day too because they were all on sale for 99 cents and $1.99. I never buy anything unless it's on sale! I'm such a cheapskate! LOL!!! Did you know Roger Smith and Ann-Margret were married since 1967? 50 years! Wow!!!
Thanks for sharing all that information about the "hippie" movement. I loved those 2 pictures you posted of psychedelic painted buses! Groovy! So "The Merry Pranksters" and "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" are not bands, but "The Paul Butterfield Blues Band" is. I know that song "Mystery Train". I've heard it done by Ricky Nelson and Elvis Presley, etc... but it was originally done by American blues musician Junior Parker in 1953. It's considered a standard classic. I need to finally watch that full concert called "The Last Waltz". I've always wanted that DVD because it has Bob Dylan, The Band, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, etc... Awesome list of performers! I'm sure you've already seen "The Last Waltz"? I bet it was fantastic!
I agree about "You Can't Do That"! I can't believe they omitted it from the Hard Day's Night movie! And the American version of the AHDN album dosen't have the songs "You Can't Do That" or "I'll Be Back"! They'd rather include the instrumental song "Ringo's Theme (This Boy)" instead? WTF? LOL!!! "Sun King" is a relaxing tune. But I wouldn't exactly call it a favorite! I remember when I first heard it, I thought it was another slower version of "Here Comes The Sun" until they said the word "King". I think I read somewhere John Lennon did that intentionally to mess with George Harrison? LOL! BeatleNut and I figured out they are singing some sort of mixture of Spanish and Italian language in the middle part. "Quando paramucho mi amore de felice carathon. Mundo paparazzi mi amore cicce verdi parasol. Questo abrigado tantamucho que canite carousel." I have no idea what any of that means but it sure does sound nice! LOL!!! Yes, great harmonies!
Thank you for sharing those 2 links. I did enjoy listening to the songs and I also subscribed to that Tumblr page, eventhough I hardly go on Tumblr anymore. I had to go to CVS Pharmacy today and tomorrow I have an appointment with my psychiatrist/therapist. I might have to go to the post office soon too, to ship off some stuff if anything I have listed on eBay sells. I've never made much money off selling stuff online but thanks for wishing me good luck anyway!
I've been so busy this whole first week of June!
But I will always try my best to catch up with you whenever I find time to come online!
Have a fab day, my friend! :-)
Hey Sadie! Sorry it took a while to get back to you!!! Was busy with things this week!! I see you've seen some episodes of "77 Sunset Strip" on DailyMotion. Even though not in the best quality, at least it's Free! That site called Warner Archive Instant sounds Good!!! But, of course something like that is Not Free! :-( No, I don't remember "Bourbon Street Beat". Yes! Hopefully those shows will finally surface on DVD someday!!! I see you got a lot of good Kindke Books on amazon when they were on sale!!! That's Great!! :-) I usually don't buy anything unless it's on sale too!! Unless I Really Need Something Bad!! LOL!!! You're Not a Cheapskate!!! More affordable when you can find things on sale, is all!!! Nothing wrong with that when money is tight!!! No, I didn't know Roger Smith and Ann-Margret were married since 1967. WOW!!! That's a long time, 50 years!!
You're Welcome for sharing the information about the Hippie movement!! Glad you loved those Two Pics of the psychedelic painted buses!!! GROOVY!!!! :-) Yeah, "The Merry Pranksters" and "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" were not bands. But yes, "The Paul Butterfield Blues Band" is. COOL, I never heard "Mystery Train" done by Ricky Nelson and Elvis Presley!! I think I've heard somewhere that it was originally done by an American blues musician Junior Parker in 1953. It's considered a standard classic! Cool! I remember seeing Paul Butterfield doing "Mystery Train" on "The Last Waltz"! That's why I posted the two videos. I thought you would remember seeing that on "The Last Waltz"! I bought "The Last Waltz" on DVD some years back!! I Love It!!! Yes, I agree it has an awesome list of performers!!! It IS Fantastic!!! I watched it Many Times!!! I Hope you can get the DVD sometime!!!!! A must see DVD when you Can!!!
I remember all of us talking years ago on Ann's Beatle Site how we couldn't believe that "You Can't Do That" was omitted from the Hard Day's Night movie!!! It's such a Classic JOHN song!!! A Great Rocker!!! Yes, it Sucks that the American version of the AHDN album doesn't have the songs "You Can't Do That" or "I'll Be Back"!!!! :-( Two GREAT Songs!!!! Yeah, what was wrong with them, they'd rather include the instrumental song "Ringo's Theme (This Boy)" instead??!? WTF???? LOL!!! Yes, "Sun King" Is a relaxing tune!! I also, wouldn't call it a favorite too, though!! LOL! Yes, it does sound kind of like a slower version of "Here Comes The Sun"!! Really? You read somewhere John Lennon did that intentionally to mess with George Harrison? LOL!!!! That would be a Classic John type of thing to do!!!! LOL!!! ;-) Yes, I agree too that those mixtures of some sort of Spanish and Italian language in the middle part of the song does Sound Nice!!! I have No idea what those words mean, it's so relaxing though with great harmonies!!!! :-)
You're Welcome for sharing those two links to those songs!! I'm Glad you enjoyed listening to them again!!! :-) I see you also subscribed to that Tumblr page, even though you hardly go on Tumblr anymore. I don't go on tumblr that often anymore too. Only usually when there is a Beatle Occasion coming up!! I used to go there much more often.

Thanks!!!!! You have a FAB Day and a FAB Weekend too, My Friend!!! :-)
Hey Beatlebob! That's great you have "The Last Waltz" on DVD! I think I remember you told me once that you own it. And I also remember us talking about "You Can't Do That" on the Beatles site. It is a great song and video that I still can't believe they didn't include in the AHDN movie! Yeah, I'm just sticking to YouTube, DailyMotion, etc... the free sites for now. I can't afford to join Netflix, Hulu, etc. again at the moment because I'm saving to see Paul! I recently tried some service called Sling because it was a way to get Turner Classic Movies without cable but it's like $25+ a month and even that's too much for me. Regular cable companies are like $70+ a month. At one point in 2010-2011 I was paying $200 a month for a bundle from a company called "Cox" that included TV with premium channels, high speed Internet and home phone! Yikes!!! That was before I knew about streaming though! It saves me alot of money now! But I don't have HBO anymore and I missed some stuff like The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony. How are things going with your new television set? Are you used to it by now? It took me a while to figure out all this digital switch stuff and there's still some things I don't understand yet! I still don't have a Blu-Ray disc player. Do you? Does it look and sound alot better than regular DVDs? I'm considering finally getting one soon but I'd also need an HDTV for it. Well I've got to go now but we'll catch up more later! Have a fab weekend, my friend! :-)
Hey Sadie! Years ago when I had the NetFlix DVD plan I rented "The Last Waltz". I Loved it so much, I bought the DVD on amazon. Yeah, I think I told you that I have it on DVD some years back. I figured you would remember us talking about "You Can't Do That" on the Beatles site! It Sure Is a Great Song and Video!! I also, still can't believe they didn't include in the AHDN movie!! :-( I can understand why you're just sticking to the Free sites for now. If you paid to join Netflix, Hulu, etc. again you wouldn't be able to afford to save money to see Paul!! I've seen the ads for "Sling". Cool that they include Turner Classic Movies without having cable! But, it's $25+ a month and that's too much for you right now. :-( Yes, I know Regular Cable companies are Expensive!! Boy, do I Know!! :-( I see at one point in 2010-2011 you were paying $200 a month for a bundle from "Cox" that included TV with premium channels, high speed Internet and home phone!!! YIKES is Right!! Even more Expensive These Days for a Bundle like that!! I'm paying $194 a month right now for a Bundle from a company called "Optimum" that includes TV with premium channels, and Internet at 100 Mbps. They offer speeds at 60, 100, 200, and 400. The TV package I have is Optimum Silver which is one tier under the Top package they offer. It includes HBO, Showtime, and Starz/Encore. I didn't opt for home phone. Both my Mother and I have Verizon for our land line phones. The TV plan is for Two TV's. My Mother's and mine. They charge me extra for 2 cable boxes and remotes and a Modem rental fee with a Free Router. An additional outlet fee for my Mother's TV etc. SUCKS when it's all added up! That's why it costs $194 a month!!! :-( My Mother insists on having the Cable TV plan! She wants her TV shows and the news. And the premium channels to watch some movies. We share the cost of the plan! I couldn't afford all of that on my own!! We pool our money together each month for That and food etc!!! I would Like to Stream Movies etc! But, I can't afford a Smart Phone, Tablet, or a Laptop!! I just have my One Desktop computer! Verizon was upping the price of my Internet when they switched our old copper phone lines over to fiber. So, I dropped my Internet with them and went with Optimum. I'm only paying $10 more a month for Internet at 100 Mbps now than what Verizon wanted to charge me for Much Slower Internet speeds!! So, at least that evened out a bit! If I had a Laptop and a Tablet I would like to Stream Too!! But, I can't since I'm paying for the TV Plan Etc!! :-( I'm Sure the Streaming saves you a lot of money!!!! That's GREAT!! :-) Yeah, I'm sure you miss having HBO! But, you are paying So Much Less each month with what you're doing now!!!
Yeah, I'm pretty much used to my new television set now. I see it took you a while to figure out all this digital switch stuff and there's still some things you don't understand yet! Since I am still on Windows 7 on my computer and don't have a smart phone etc., I don't know much at all about anything new these days. I just learned a few things about the New TV and the HD cable box, is all. LOL! At least HBO etc looks Great on my New TV and HD Cable Box now!!
I Still don't have a Blu-Ray disc player, too!! I couldn't afford to buy one since I had to pay for a new TV!! I just hooked up my old DVD player to my new TV. My old DVD player is pretty worn out. I'm surprised it still works!! But, at least I can watch a DVD on it, even though it has the quality of a VCR. LOL!! I'm Sure the Blu-Ray disc players look and sound a lot Better than regular DVD's!!! Hopefully some day I can get one!! I see you're considering finally getting one soon but, you would also need an HDTV for it. Maybe after Hopefully seeing Paul. Sometime after that Hopefully you can look into it!! I had FUN yesterday doing laundry etc!! Wasn't on the computer. Glad I caught up with you Today!!! :-) Hopefully we will catch up again SOON!!! Thanks!!! I Hope you are having a FAB weekend My Friend!!! :-)
