And he also was a producer of AC/DC? WOW!! Thanks for letting me know that too!!! I also, Like AC/DC!!! The Easybeats are one of the only Australian bands from the 60's I know of, as well!

The EASYBEATS, Live from Germany 1967. 12 minutes long. Some of their songs.
At 9:26 - Friday On My Mind. :-)
Hey Beatlebob! Thanks for that video! Yeah, alot of people don't know that The Easybeats were related to AC/DC. I knew about George Young being the brother of Angus & Malcom Young but wasn't aware that he also worked with AC/DC too, as a producer. What a great song "Friday On My Mind" is! One of my favorites from the 60s in general! :-)
RIP Robert Guillaume, actor from "Soap" and "Benson", who has died at age 89
I never really watched either of those shows much but have seen both before and do know who he is. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't "Benson" a spin-off of "Soap"? I'm not sure but I think so. A great Emmy winning African American actor. Rest In Peace!
Also, another great African-American legend has passed away at the age of 89, the legendary Fats Domino.
I like the songs "Blueberry Hill", "I'm Walkin', "Ain't That A Shame", "I Want To Walk You Home", etc...
I remember thinking with the recent death of Chuck Berry it looks like almost all the early Rock n Roll pioneers are passing away... and now this sad news. :-(
Rest In Peace!
Hey Sadie! You're Welcome for that video! Yeah, I didn't know that The Easybeats were related to AC/DC, until you mentioned it! I also, didn't know that George Young being the brother of Angus & Malcom Young also worked with AC/DC as a producer!! I Love "Friday On My Mind"!! Sure is a Great song!! I used to hear it on the radio a lot back then, and it was one of my Favorite songs in the 60's!! :-) I still love hearing it!!
I didn't know Robert Guillaume died. :-( I Sure know who he is too!! I also wasn't a big fan of "Soap" and "Benson", but I watched them a few times. Yes, "Benson" Was a spin-off of "Soap"!
"Benson was a half-hour Sitcom that aired on ABC from 1979–86.
A Spin-Off of Soap, the series starred Robert Guillaume as Benson DuBois, who took over as head of household affairs at the Governor's Mansion under Gov. Eugene Gatling (James Noble) — cousin to Jessica and Mary of Soap."
Yes, he was a Great Emmy winning African American actor!! Nice Picture you posted of him, Thanks!
Rest In Peace, Robert Guillaume!
WOW! I also didn't know that Fats Domino died too!! :-( He sure was a Great African-American music legend!! Thanks for posting his picture too!! He had so many Great songs back then!! I Really liked the songs "Blueberry Hill", "I'm Walkin', "Ain't That A Shame", and "I Want To Walk You Home" too!!!
Thanks for the Video "Ain't That A Shame"!!! The Video is Great Quality!! Yeah, with the recent death of Chuck Berry it looks like almost all the early Rock & Roll pioneers are passing away!!!! :-( And now This SAD News!! :-(
Rest In Peace, Fats Domino! :-(
I found a few cover songs with Paul McCartney, John, Lennon, and Tom Petty.
Goin' Home: A Tribute to Fats Domino is a 2007 tribute album by various artists to Fats Domino, issued by Vanguard Records.
"Ain't That a Shame" (Domino, Bartholomew) "John Lennon"
"I Want to Walk You Home" (Domino, Bartholomew) Allen Toussaint and "Paul McCartney"
"I'm Walkin'" (Domino, Bartholomew) "Tom Petty" & The Heartbreakers
And I found Fats Domino & Ricky Nelson - I'm Walking (Colour)
Enjoy!
RIP actor Jack Bannon
I know him from the show "Lou Grant" eventhough I never watched it much. I learned today he was Bea Benaderet's son! Never knew that! Interesting fact! He was 77. Rest In Peace.
Also RIP to singer Dick Noel
I'm not sure if I am familiar with any of his music but it's a possibility since he was known as "The King Of Jingles". He was 90. Also songwriter Dave Appell, passed away at age 92. He wrote for Chubby Checker and more. (Unfortunately I can't seem to find much more information or any pictures of him online yet) but still, R.I.P.
Beatlebob, thanks for all the videos! I really enjoyed hearing those cover songs by some of my favorite musicians! And it was good to see Fats Domino himself playing with Ricky Nelson. Rick's cover of "I'm Walkin' was his first single and the first time he ever sang on the Ozzie & Harriet show. I've got to check out that album from 2007 called "Goin' Home: A Tribute to Fats Domino". Really? You hadn't heard of those two dying yet? It was all over the news for me. This year only has about 2 months left. Hopefully there won't be that many more celebrity deaths in 2017. Thanks for sharing those Tom Petty magazines too. I finally saw the Rolling Stone one at the grocery store but didn't buy it yet because it was $15. I guess since it's a special edition of Rolling Stone magazine it costs more. The average price of that mag is around $5. I used to have a subscription to it a long time ago. I cancelled because I didn't find it too interesting anymore. But every once in a while there's a cover story I wanna read, so I still check it out sometimes. Looking forward to catching up with you soon! It's going to be a very busy November for me too. I have so many appointments scheduled! One of them is even in another city since the eye doctors in my town won't accept my insurance anymore! Frustrating! But I'll be sure to come back here and catch up with you whenever I can! Have a good November, my friend! :-)
Hey Sadie!
More about Jack Bannon:
Jack Bannon, a familiar face on prime-time television and best known as the genial and raffish assistant city editor Art Donovan on "Lou Grant," has died at age 77.
Bannon died Wednesday in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where he had lived with his wife, Ellen Travolta Bannon — the sister of John Travolta — since the mid-1990s. No cause of death was immediately given.
He was a regular on the acclaimed newspaper drama, which starred Ed Asner in the title role and aired on CBS from 1977 to 1982.
The crusading journalists of the fictional Los Angeles Tribune were mostly high-spirited and sometimes volatile. But Art Donovan stood out as a calming, fastidious presence (as displayed in the opening titles as he carefully arranges his suit jacket on a hanger, which he hooks on the coat stand).
Before "Lou Grant," Bannon appeared in such series as "Here's Lucy," ''Daniel Boone," ''Mannix," ''Kojak" and "The Rockford Files."
He later co-starred on the short-lived 1983 ABC medical drama "Trauma Center."
Both Bannon's parents were actors. His mother, Bea Benaderet, was a regular on "The Beverly Hillbillies," which she left to star in another long-running sitcom, "Petticoat Junction." His father, Jim Bannon, played the cowboy Red Ryder in several films.
He had long been involved in the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre, as was his wife, also an actor and best known from the sitcoms "Joanie Loves Chachi" and "Charles in Charge." She survives him.
More about Dave Appell:
Dave Appell, the Philadelphia-based producer-songwriter behind classic 60s hits “Let’s Twist Again” and “Limbo Rock” for Chubby Checker and producer for Tony Orlando and Dawn. Although he had previously formed the Dave Appell Four (which later became the Applejacks), Appell’s career really took off when he became associated with the Philadelphia-based Cameo-Parkway label in the 1950s. At Cameo, Appell worked with the label’s founders: lyricist Kal Mann and songwriter-producer Bernie Lowe. During this time, Appell was also the musical director for The Ernie Kovacs Show, which was broadcast out of Philadelphia.
In addition to session and background vocal work, Appell still played with the Applejacks. The band charted in the Top 40 with the song “Rocka Conga” and appeared in the 1956 film Don’t Knock the Rock, which also featured performances from Bill Haley & His Comets and Little Richard.
In addition to his work with Checker, Appell co-wrote (along with Mann) the 1962 hit “Mashed Potato Time” for Dee Dee Sharp, as well as hits for The Orlons, Bobby Rydell, and The Dovells.
Although Appell left Cameo-Parkway in the early 1960s, he had further success producing hits for Tony Orlando and Dawn, including number one singles “Knock Three Times” and “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree.”
RIP actor Jack Bannon
RIP to singer Dick Noel
RIP to songwriter Dave Appell
Sadie, You're So Welcome for the Videos!! So Glad you enjoyed those cover songs!!! :-) I thought you would like seeing Fats Domino himself playing with Ricky Nelson! :-)
Ricky Nelson I'm Walkin' the Ozzie & Harriet show. ;-)
Yeah, that from 2007 called "Goin' Home: A Tribute to Fats Domino", sounds Good!! I actually heard that Robert Guillaume and Fats Domino died on the news after I got off the computer writing you here, on the news the same day. I don't know how I missed it on the news before that?? Really, this year only has about 2 months left! I agree, Hopefully there won't be that many more celebrity deaths in 2017!! You're Welcome for sharing those Tom Petty magazines!! I see that you finally saw the Rolling Stone one at the grocery store but didn't buy it yet because it was $15. I'm sure since it's a Special Edition of Rolling Stone magazine, that's why it costs more! Yeah, I know the average price of that magazine is around $5. COOL that you used to have a subscription to it a long time ago! I understand why you canceled! LOL! I used to buy them once in a while when I liked what was on the cover and inside. I looked at the index etc, and if I liked it, I bought it. ;-) I see that you still get it for the same reasons I do, once in a while!! :-) Sorry it took a while to get back to you!! I had to go for that Cat Scan on Friday, and did Laundry yesterday. I Look Forward to catching up with You Soon too, My Friend!!! I see it's going to be a Busy November for You too!! Looks like you have a lot of appointments scheduled!!! WOW!! And One of them is in another city, since the eye doctors in your town won't accept your insurance anymore!!! I'm So Sorry to hear that!!! :-( Very Frustrating!!!! Thanks!!!! I'll also, be sure to come back here and catch up with You whenever I can!!!!!! I Wish you the BEST with ALL your appointments!!!! I Sure Hope we can catch up Soon!!! Thanks!!! You have a Good November Too, My Friend!!! :-)
Some Happy Halloween for Ya! ;-)
Monster Mash
The Beatles Cartoon (1960s): Marry a Vampire? Paul?
:-)
Beatlebob! Thanks for that little clip of the Beatles cartoon show! I remember that episode! So cute!!
I Love "The Monster Mash"! I listen to that song all year long, but especially around Halloween time! Thanks for that video too. And most of all, thanks for the video of RICKY!!! ♥ ♥ ♥
Thank you for posting some more information about those recently dearly departed people. Wow! I learned more about Jack Bannon and Dave Appell. That's a good picture you found! I couldn't find one, but now I realize I had already seen him as one of The Applejacks in the film "Don’t Knock the Rock". Never knew he wrote all those good songs! Cool!!
I only knew Mr. Bannon from the Lou Grant show. I don't think I ever saw "Trauma Center" or any of his guest starring roles on other shows. I was amazed he was Bea Benaderet's son! I think I already knew that he was married to John Travolta's sister though. His father's name "Jim Bannon" dosen't exactly ring a bell in my mind, but I'd probably recognize him, as I've seen quite a few Westerns. I read that Dick Noel earned the "The King of the Jingles" nickname while recording some 15,000 commercial spots for everything from United Airlines to McDonald's during his career before retiring in the late 1980. He also had a "highly regarded" 1978 album "A Time for Love" with pianist Larry Novak, which features standard ballads "Send in the Clowns" and "Here's That Rainy Day. It was great to learn some more about them! Thanks again for your extra info! :-)
Well I hope you have a Happy Halloween! And I hope you enjoy my comments on your new pictures!
Have a good November too, my friend!!!! :-)
Hey Sadie! You're Welcome for the clip of the Beatles cartoon show!! I thought you would remember that episode. :-) The only Beatles cartoon show that had sort of a Halloween related theme. ;-)
I Love "The Monster Mash" too!! I like listening that song around Halloween. But, I could listen to it any other time too! You're Welcome for that Video too! :-) And You're So Welcome for the video of Ricky!!!! :-)
And You're Welcome for posting some more information about Jack Bannon and Dave Appell!! I'm Glad you learned some more about them!! And Glad you liked that picture of Dave Appell!! :-) WOW!! I will be busy with appointments for the next few days but will catch up as soon as possible! Hope all is well with you! Have a great November, my friend!!! :-)
