I Remember her from "Topper"!! I thought it was a pretty good show!

Anne Jeffreys, the sophisticated blond actress and singer who played a glamorous ghost in the 1950s television series “Topper,” died on Wednesday at her home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. She was 94.

Her death was confirmed by her son Jeff Sterling.

“Topper,” seen on CBS from 1953 to 1955, was based on the 1937 film of the same name starring Cary Grant and Constance Bennett as a young couple, George and Marion Kerby, who die in an accident and come back to haunt their old house, now occupied by a stodgy banker, just for fun.

Ms. Jeffreys starred opposite her dapper real-life husband, Robert Sterling. The banker, Cosmo Topper (played in the movie and its sequels by Roland Young), was played by Leo G. Carroll.

Hugh Marston Hefner (April 9, 1926 – September 27, 2017) was an American businessman, magazine publisher and playboy. He was the editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine, which he founded in 1953, and as chief creative officer of Playboy Enterprises, the publishing group that operates the magazine. An advocate of sexual liberation and freedom of expression, Hefner was a political activist and philanthropist in several other causes and public issues.

To launch Playboy, which was initially going to be called Stag Party. The first issue, published in December 1953, featured Marilyn Monroe from her 1949 nude calendar shoot and sold over 50,000 copies. Hefner, who never met Monroe, bought the crypt next to hers at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in 1992 for $75,000.

When you’re John Lennon you can pretty much get away with a lot. In the 1960’s, Lennon did just that. On a drunken night, he actually put out his cigarette on one of Hef’s original Matissee paintings. Known around the world, Matisse’s paintings have sold for up to $15 million. That’s one expensive ashtray. Apparently, the Matisse still hangs in the home, cigarette burn and all.

Lennon Runs Amok:

The Playboy Mansion has been host to cultural icons the world over. From Gene Simmons and Slash to Elvis and the famed ‘secret Elvis room’ that no one’s ever seen, if you scored an invite to hang out with Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion it was understood that if you ever wanted to come back you’d better treat it better than your own home, freewheeling rockstar lifestyle be damned. Late Beatle John Lennon apparently missed the memo and drew Hefner’s ire when during a visit to the Playboy Mansion while on a break from Yoko Ono he crossed a pretty big red line by vandalizing the mansion, taking one of Hef’s original Matisse paintings off of a wall and actually snuffing his cigarette out onto it.

Understandably, Hef was quite upset at seeing a priceless work of art defaced in his own home and while there are no details about how Lennon was removed from the Playboy Mansion, I think it’s safe to surmise that security, yelling, and lot of physical labor were involved in the process. Surprisingly, John Lennon wasn’t banned despite disrespecting the hell out of Hugh Hefner’s home; in fact, the pair managed to patch things up and as an added bonus, Hef kept the painting despite the cigarette burn – it’s still hanging there today.   ;-)

It Sure IS Unreal that Trump is our President!! :-( I know what you mean about Trump talking all this Stupid Stuff on Twitter about the NFL for a  Good While, and barely even mentioning the current crisis in Puerto Rico and other more important things!!! That was all you seen on the News, was mostly about his Rants about the NFL!! I also, don't think it's such a big deal about sitting down or kneeling during The National Anthem as a form of protest!! Really!! It's a silent protest that's not harming anyone!! I'm also So Tired of hearing about that Crap!!! :-( And the reason why the NFL players are doing this is not being against The National Anthem or Our Flag!! It's about the injustice against the Black community and all the stuff that Trump does like condoning those violent tiki torch marches!! And not talking down to White supremacy groups!!! Yeah I know that he basically condoned the right to march around violently, with tiki torches but a person can't voluntarily choose not to participate in The Pledge Of Allegiance or National Anthem??? Sure Isn't Fair!! Trump Always chooses to Rant about Things that aren't that important, to get off of the Important Topics such as Losing the Vote on his health care plan!! And So Many other things that Didn't get passed that he wanted!! That's why he does these things!! To get the public away from thinking about his "Failures and Lies"!! Like the Bad job helping the crisis in Puerto Rico!! He also, does this because he's an Idiot!!! LOL! He loves to start Stupid Rants off the cuff at any given moment to cause Chaos!! He Lives for that stuff!! He's like a Spoiled Bully Child!!

Among the other tweets about the Emmys, golfing, etc, you seen the one where he called the NFL team "sons of bitches"!!! Yeah, not only in a tweet but, at a rally he said That too!!! I saw that on the News many time!! WTF???? Really!!!! What An Unprofessional!!! He's Not fit to be a President!!!! YES, Trump and North Korea's leader are two immature idiots who shouldn't be in charge of anything!!!!!!! I Agree, it's like the 1950s all over again with those Two Idiots being on the brink of setting us back to another Korean War!! Ridiculous is putting it Mildly!!! YES, let's HOPE somehow he gets impeached before we're all doomed!!!! Very Scary times!!!!! :-(

Beatlebob, thanks for posting some more information about that actress and Hugh Hefner. I've actually never heard that story about John Lennon before! I really enjoyed it. LOL!!! I remember the show Topper too. I never knew the stars of it were married in real life til now! I agree with you, on how Trump tries to change the subject alot, to hide his own failures. And he also seems to enjoy starting drama and controversy just for attention. What a jerk! Eventhough I hate him I can't help but laugh at him too. It's sad but also somewhat funny how we have such an asshole as our leader! Still can't believe it!!

I went to the Opera House's Facebook page today and eventhough it's September 30th they still haven't put the pictures up! That pissed me off! I'm so tired of waiting! Nothing new, just this same old thing:

My blood test results came out Okay. Except Two!! I have a very high Cholesterol reading!! And a High reading that has something to do with my Liver!! I'm going to have to get in touch with My MD about these Two Results, to find out more about this!! I guess I'll have to see her again sometime soon. Also, I have to take my annual Cat Scan for lung cancer screening, and thyroid screening this month. I took one last year and I'm due for another one. I have an appointment for it later this month. FUN!! That's all I know for now.

Beatlebob, I noticed the site has been acting up lately for me too. I just tried to comment on those two new pictures you posted but it wouldn't let me! It's a good idea to post things twice, just in case! You get test results online? Cool! Last time I had a check up they said I had high cholesterol too. Hope you can lower it and figure out what that liver thing is! Hopefully it's nothing serious! Best of luck with that, my friend! :-) 

When I got to the eye doctor's office yesterday they said my appointment had been cancelled because my insurance changed. Wtf?? I was so disappointed, since it's time for me to get new glasses! Now who knows how long I'll have to wait and if it will be free or not somewhere else?? :-(

I'm also disappointed there's still no Opera House picture! Maybe they changed their mind about the costume contest afterall? Man!!! Even if there's no more contest anymore, I still would like to see my picture! :-(

I can't believe the news about the shooting at that country music festival in Las Vegas! Horrible! And now Tom Petty too! So sad!!! Hoping the rest of October will be better! Thanks for sharing those Halloween pictures of The Munsters & The Addams Family! Omg! I LOVE those pics!!!! Did you make them yourself or find them online? Either way they're great! I see that the site has been acting up lately for You too!! :-( I'm Sorry to hear when you tried to comment on those two new pictures I posted, it wouldn't let you!!! :-( When I posted the above the other day, and clicked on add comment the little gear thing just kept on spinning. I posted it again, and the second time it worked. But, I noticed when I logged out, there where Two Posts!! WTF?? LOL! Was a Long Day seeing my Shrink in NYC yesterday!! Was beat by the time I got home!! Heavy traffic etc, as usual!! :-( Last night my Niece called my Mother. My Sister has Breast Cancer. :-( The Doctors are going to see which is the best route to go. Either a Lumpectomy or a Mastectomy. They are going over the options next Tuesday! Two years ago she had to have a Mastectomy on her left Breast. She has been taking medication since then and having exams to make sure the cancer wouldn't spread! But, the recent exam showed that it Did spread to the other breast! We will find out Wednesday what the Doctors are going to do and when! What a Scary phone call we had last night!!! :-( We're Hoping for the BEST!! Always something!! :-(

Hey Beatlebob. I still haven't got my medical insurance situation straightened out yet, but hopefully soon. With all the bad news and stuff lately, I am in no mood to be dealing with any more problems or scheduling any appointments! I am so angry at the Opera House that I don't even feel like trying to contact them right now. It's like they just forgot about the whole costume contest! Wtf! All that anticipation for nothing! But who knows, I'm still waiting and checking their page often. It's similar to the frustration I feel over Ann. It's now been 6 months since she last responded to me. I officially gave up. I can't even think of any reason why she now ignores us. I just hope the 2 sites don't shut down anytime soon! I hate Facebook and all those social networking sites! I don't want us to have to move over there if these Ning sites end or communicate through e-mail either! It won't be as fun! :-(

Thanks again for "Zoo Gang". I don't think I'd ever heard that one before either! Paul has so many songs, that I'm not even sure! LOL!!! I did enjoy that "Talking To The Animals" series. Thanks for recommending it. I actually haven't been keeping up with Mike's shows that much lately, because I've been super busy! Same with participating on this site and the Beatles one. Just like you said there's "always something" going on that prevents free time! I know you understand. :-)

Thanks for keeping me updated. Glad your shrink visit is over and done with. I hate long days like that with heavy traffic! Sorry to hear your sister has breast cancer! That is so sad!! I didn't know you had a niece. It's awful when cancer appears to be gone and then all of a sudden comes back and spreads! I can imagine how scary that phone call was, but it could have been worse! Try to think of it that way. At least now you are all aware of what's going on with her and the doctors are deciding what to do. Same with your test results for melanoma. You are very lucky. It could have been much worse! Just keep on praying, my friend! That's all we can do! :-)

Hey Beatlebob. Yes I do hate Facebook and Twitter, Instagram, etc... all those stupid social sites suck! I only like this one and the Beatles one! I was also wondering if this site is free or not and if it's not, how long has it been paid up for? I'm always scared it will expire soon too. Especially now with all the warning signs like slow commenting, etc... that have been happening lately! And the fact that Ann the administrator dosen't seem to even keep up with it anymore... Looks like the end is finally near! :-(

I think I once heard that Alyssabeth girl from the Beatle site was helping Ann pay for the sites at one point. She is also my Facebook friend and I could ask her but we don't even talk anymore so I won't. I don't know what Ning's prices are but the Beatlemania site I had (remember that? it was hosted by Spruz) was getting too expensive every month. It started out with $8 a month then went up to $12, and then they were charging me extra for every little feature like shoutbox, polls, music player, etc... that I added to my page. They even charged extra for a custom cursor once! LOL! The last straw was when they said I had reached the "bandwidth" limit because we were posting too many photos, large sized photos, etc... and they wanted me to pay for any extra space! They also complained about us having "potentially copyrighted content" on our site. Even after I removed the music, that warning message was still showing up, probably over our Beatles pictures. Ugh! I finally decided to just get rid of that site because towards the end it was costing me over $20 a month and I couldn't afford it anymore! Nobody was donating either. I was sad to see it go but my wallet sure was happy! LOL!!!!

You're welcome for putting your sister's situation in a better perspective! That's just how I am, an optimist. I try to always look on the bright side of things, even in tragedy. Like when a family member of mine was murdered. He was only 17. But at least he didn't die alone, he was killed along with some other people, including a close friend. It was sad that his life was cut so short. But at least he is at peace, and didn't have to deal with all of life's problems for many, many more years. He didn't have to worry about working, paying bills, going to college or joining the military, etc. like most people do! So I try to think of it that way and it is a very comforting thought. 

I count my blessings everyday, especially with all the hurricanes, earthquakes, shootings, and celebrities dying lately. It makes me feel happy and grateful to be waking up every morning even if I still don't have much money!  

Sounds like your sister has already dealt with breast cancer before? If she and all her loved ones like you survived that disaster before, you can do it again! Just hang in there and keep on praying! I will continue to send positive thoughts and prayers to you and your family too! :-) 

Don't worry about catching up with me. Your mother's appointment and cat's vet appointment are more important. I am upset that I didn't have much time to celebrate John Lennon day because I was very busy on Octber 9 with shopping for groceries and household items. I had to wait a long time at the store with several bags for the taxicab to finally show up! It was not a good day overall! But I plan on celebrating him this weekend, and hopefully hearing again from you! :-)
