Aww! Cool new discussion! And cute retro television set! :-)

Lately I've been obsessed with "The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis"!!!

I love Dobie's best friend, beatnik Maynard! Definitely my favorite character on that show! ;-P  LOL!

I can relate to Zelda Gilroy for always liking guys who never like me back! And I can also relate to Thalia Menninger for always wanting a rich guy! Maynard's the funniest but Chatsworth Osborne Jr. and Dobie's parents who work in a grocery shop are funny too! And it's also funny how Dobie always goes through misadventures, especially unlucky in love!

If you've never seen that show, I really recommend it! It's on Hulu if anyone has that. :-)

And has anyone here ever heard of "Meet Corliss Archer"? I love that show too!! It only lasted one season but has like 40 episodes. Alot are on YouTube. I think it's probably the first TV show about a teenage girl's life (long before "Gidget" or "The Patty Duke Show", etc...) Corliss' boyfriend named Dexter is always accident prone and getting into spontaneous trouble! Funny!

I feel like a cult follower because barely no one even knows what I'm talking about when I mention those somewhat obscure shows! :-P

I Agree!!! COOL New discussion!!! Love the retro television set too!!  :-)

Sadie! WOW!!!!!!! You know So Much about "The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis"!!! I only seen a few episodes of that show. And I never heard of "Meet Corliss Archer"? LOL!

"I feel like a cult follower because barely no one even knows what I'm talking about when I mention those somewhat obscure shows! :-P"

LOL!!! :-)

I Loved so many of the Old TV shows!! I Don't like any of the new ones!! LOL!!
Too many to list right now, because I have to sign off. But, will Certainly come back to This Discussion!!!
Thanks Candy O!! :-)

Won't be online tomorrow. Will catch up on Friday!!

Yeah I figured no one else would probably be familiar with that "Corliss Archer" show since it's so old (from the 1950s) and I've never seen it on TV in syndicated reruns... just on YouTube. It's rare! :-)

At least you've seen a few episodes of "Dobie Gillis". I'm almost done watching The Complete Series! :-D

Sadie, the "Corliss Archer" show sounds like an interesting show from what you wrote about it on Wednesday! I just don't remember it. Yes, now that I think about it I've seen more than just a few episodes of "Dobie Gillis"!! I loved Maynard G. Krebs (Bob Denver) the beatnik character he played!! :-)

I Loved "Leave It to Beaver", "Honeymooners", "My Three Sons", "The Donna Reed Show", "The Ed Sullivan Show", "Bewitched", "Beverly Hillbillies", "I Dream of Jeannie", "The Andy Griffith Show", "What's My Line?", "Bonanza", "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "I Love Lucy", The Red Skelton Show", "American Bandstand", "Father Knows Best", "The Mickey Mouse Club", "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet", "Candid Camera", "Make Room for Daddy", "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "The Avengers", "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In", "Get Smart", "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "All in the Family", "MASH", "WKRP in Cincinnati", "The Odd Couple", "Barney Miller", "Taxi", "The Partridge Family", "The Munsters", "The Adams Family", "Our Gang/ Little Rascals", "The Bowery Boys", and so many more!! Too many to list!! LOL!! I can't even remember some of the other shows I loved, right now!! ;-)

Wow! Awesome list of shows, Beatlebob!

You mentioned alot of my favorites too! :-)

You forgot "The Monkees" though. That's my favorite TV show ever!! :-D

Glad you liked Maynard G. Krebs too! LOL call me crazy but I'm in love with him! ;-P

Thanks Sadie!! :-) I KNOW I mentioned a lot of your favorites too!!  :-)
Yeah, I Did forget "The Monkees"!! :-( You Know I really Liked "The Monkees" too!!
I forgot to mention some other shows, as well. Like "Car 54, Where Are You?", "Mr. Ed", "F Troop", and some others. I still have to think of some others I Liked!! So Many!! LOL! ;-)

AWW!! I Love that GIF of Maynard G. Krebs you posted!! So Cute!!  :-D
Yeah, I Loved Maynard G. Krebs!! :-)

" LOL call me crazy but I'm in love with him! ;-P"

LOL!! ;-)

Hey Beatlebob! I'm glad you enjoyed that GIF of Maynard with a cat!
Aww, so cute indeed! You can click on it to enlarge... :-)
That's cool how your name is Bob too, like Bob Denver!
Have you ever seen "The Good Guys" or "Dusty's Trail"? I haven't.
Just "Gilligan's Island" but I liked "The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis" better! :-)
Yes, there's too many good old shows to remember them all at once!
I tried making a list before and it was even longer than yours! LOL!!!
I haven't seen too many episodes of "Car 54, Where Are You?" but now that you mention it,
I feel like watching it even more! And listening to all those Dylan albums you recommended!
I remember both Grandpa & Herman Munster were on that show together before "The Munsters".
It felt weird seeing them without Goth makeup! But "Car 54" was still funny too!
I was also surprised & saddened to hear about the death of that F Troop girl!
It's bad enough we just lost Batgirl!!
And you're right, 66 is not super old. Sadly Davy Jones passed away at that age too. :-(
Thanks for posting all that interesting information about her! Enjoyed the pictures and video too!
Wow I wasn't aware that she was only a teenager!
I figured she was alot older by the way she looked and acted.
I didn't know she was married to actor James MacArthur either.
Now that I think of it, I do remember seeing her guest star on an Adam-12 episode and probably even Green Acres and Hawaii Five-0 too. Thank you for posting those animated Monkees GIFS too! Cool!!!
One of the many reasons why I love "The Monkees" show is because it often referenced and parodied alot of other shows. That "Hillbilly Honeymoon" episode was obviously a spoof of "The Beverly Hillbillies". :-D

Hey Sadie! I Loved the GIF of Maynard with a cat!!! :-) Thanks for telling me to click on it to enlarge it! I Did!! So Cute!! :-) Yeah, my name is Bob too, just like Bob Denver!  ;-) No, I don't remember ever seeing "The Good Guys" or "Dusty's Trail"? Even though I've seen more episodes of "Gilligan's Island" than "The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis", I Liked "The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis" Better too!! "Gilligan's Island" was alright. But, sometimes I just wanted to Strangle "Gilligan" because he always did Stupid things on that show!! LOL!! Plus, "The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis" was a much more Funnier show!!! And I liked Bob Denver's Maynard character much better than his Gilligan character!! LOL!

Really!! There is too many good old shows to remember them all at once!!! I'm sure I'll come up with more, when I think about it! LOL! WOW!! You tried making a list before and it was even longer than mine!! LOL!!!! I can imagine!! :-) I used to Love "Car 54, Where Are You"!! I used to watch that show all the time when it was on TV!! As a matter of fact the Police precinct in the show was a fictional 53rd precinct in The Bronx. Filming was on location, and at Gold Medal Studios in The Bronx. But the Police precinct in the show looked just like the Actual Police precinct that was around the corner from where we used to live in The Bronx at the time!! Where I lived from when I was born to age 5, till we moved to Long Island, NY. ;-) I Loved the characters Toody & Muldoon!! Al Lewis "Grandpa Munster" as Officer Leo Schnauser was Funny Too!! Yeah, both Grandpa & Herman Munster were on that show together before "The Munsters"!! :-) COOL!! I bet it felt weird seeing them without Goth makeup!! LOL! Yeah, Car 54" was still funny too!!! :-)

A couple more I used to like was "Welcome Back, Kotter " and Star Trek! In Welcome Back, Kotter I used to Love Vincent "Vinnie" Barbarino and Arnold Horshack!! The Cracked Me Up!! LOL!

Yeah, I was surprised & saddened to hear about the death of that F Troop Girl too!! :-( Yes, and we just lost Batgirl, as well!! :-( Really!! She was only 66, that's not Super Old!! YES!! Sadly Davy Jones passed away at that age too!! :-( You're Welcome for posting the information about her!! Glad you enjoyed the pictures and video too!!! I wasn't aware that she was only a teenager too!! WOW!! I also thought she was a lot older by the way she looked and acted!! I also didn't know she was married to actor James MacArthur! Cool! You you do remember seeing her guest star on an Adam-12 episode and probably even Green Acres and Hawaii Five-0 too!! :-)

You're Welcome for posting the animated Monkees GIFS! Thought you'd Like Them!! :-) Yes, The Monkees" show Did often referenced and parodied a lot of other shows! Certainly that "Hillbilly Honeymoon" episode was obviously a spoof of "The Beverly Hillbillies"!! :-) I Loved "The Monkees" show mainly for The Music, the Way They Looked, and what they wore!! When the show aired at the time I Loved those things about the show!! So Groovy!! ;-) Hope you will watch even more of the "Car 54" episodes and Listen to those Dylan albums I recommended!! :-)

Have a Good Day My Friend!! :-)

Hey Beatlebob!

I liked the original "Star Trek" show too, and the original animated series also. :-)

I haven't seen "Welcome Back, Kotter" in a long time either but I remember it always cracked me up too!

That's so cool how you lived near the area where "Car 54, Where Are You?" was filmed, eventhough it was a fictional precinct, policeman back then really did look just like that! Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis made a perfect comedic team, whether playing monsters or cops!

Some things I always wondered about "Gilligan's Island" was Why did Ginger, Mary Ann, and Mrs. Howell bring so many clothes for a 3 hour tour? And if the Professor was so smart why couldn't he just simply build a boat? LOL!!!!! I liked "Maynard" alot more than "Gilligan" too. Eventhough he also acted stupid and annoying enough to strangle, especially when he got all excited and carried away during talking and Dobie always had to finally yell at him to stop, LOL! I just love young Bob as a Beatnik! ;-) I loved The Monkees show for their groovy fashion and music scenes too! But most of all I enjoyed watching it just to see Davy, Mike, and Peter ;-) Micky wasn't as good looking as them but he was the funny one! He always cracked me up the most! LOL!!!

Hey Sadie!

Cool that you liked the Original "Star Trek" show too!! I never seen the animated series? ;-)

I haven't seen "Welcome Back, Kotter" in a long time too!! I see it always cracked you up, as well!! :-)

Yeah, it was Cool that I lived near the area where "Car 54, Where Are You?" was filmed!! :-) Yes I agree, even though it was a fictional precinct, policeman back then really did look just like that!!!

"Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis made a perfect comedic team, whether playing monsters or cops!"

I Surely Agree!!! They were a Great comedic team!! :-)

LOL!!!!!! Yeah, I always wondered about that too!!! Why did Ginger, Mary Ann, and Mrs. Howell bring so many clothes for a 3 hour tour??? And Yeah, if the Professor was so smart why couldn't he just simply build a boat?? LMAO!! I also see you liked "Maynard" a lot more than "Gilligan" too!! :-) Yeah, I wanted to strangle Maynard too for the same reasons you mentioned in the "Dobie Gillis" show!!! LOL!!!! I Loved young Bob as a Beatnik too!! :-) Even though Sometimes I wanted to strangle him in that show!! ;-) I knew you loved The Monkees show for their groovy fashion and music scenes too!!! :-) I can Imagine you enjoyed watching the show just to see Davy, Mike, and Peter!! ;-) I Agree with you about Micky!! He sure Was the Funny one!! He cracked me up the most too!! LOL!!!  :-)

Beatlebob I watched a few episodes of Car 54, Where Are You? last night and I almost choked to death with laughter!

Have you ever seen one where this guy goes to the psychiatrist cause he keeps on hearing "Boom Boom Boom"? LOL!!!!!
