Music Magazine

I've got a very dear & close friend of mine who is a BIG deal in the music world, specifically The Beatles. He's in an award-winning Beatles tribute band now, but used to tour with "Beatlemania!"

He told me not too long ago saying that I should write for a music magazine because of my passion for music, my talent for writing, & my style as a critic. My attitude was that, "Who would want to be in the music industry NOW?"

I was told again today by a good friend of mine that I should be an archivist at VH1 Classic! He then made a more doable suggestion: start an online music magazine & write maybe an article a month.

If any of you know much about that or are good at research, I've got a few questions. Is there a better way than emailing out a Word document? Are there issues with copyrights if I included photos? How would I advertise? Should I just do two-page reviews on albums?

If any of you have ideas, suggestions, advice, or information...let me know! This should be a blast!

I have problems with my Verizon email every once in a while. About a month ago I called their Tech Support and they couldn't figure out the problem!! They told me I should call their Special Troubleshooting team for a charge, they should be able to fix the problem. I had to fix it, I didn't want to be without my email working!! :-( I called that number they gave me. The guy that helped me just told me to change the "Port" number in the preferences field. All I had to do was change One Port Number to the number they told me to put in the field. Verizon changed the port number and Didn't announce it!!! For that Expert Help, they charged me $34.95 to my next bill!!!! WHAT??? What a Rip Off!!! I was So Pissed Off!! But, I can't afford FIOS or Cable for my internet and email. :-( So, I'll just keep searching the web for help with my second email account. Then I'll just fix it on my own. At least my Main email address is working!! For Right Now, anyway! :-( Those Jerks I called First for No Charge Should have known about the Port Number Change!!! Or, just maybe they are trying to rip people off?!?!? :-(

Omg! Your Internet company charged you $35 just to ask a question, which was regarding something they changed in the first place? That's awful, Beatlebob! That's why I use Yahoo Mail, Gmail, etc... I don't really trust those kind of e-mail services. Not even Beatlemail sometimes! I just like the name of it! LOL! Glad you got everything straightened out now though! :-)

BUT, I just noticed I'm having problems with "Incoming" mail on the email address I Subscribed with Yesterday!! :-(( I'm trying fix the problem but, so far no luck! :-( I just now Subscribed Again on your page using my Main email address! And I put "Robert" in the "Name" field instead of "BeatleBob" that I used yesterday! I don't have any problems with that email address! When you start sending out your next album review Use This Email address with "Robert" in the Name field. Okay. Thanks!!

You've been added, BB. I hope to send out my first issue in January, a nice start right at the start of a new year! I just want at least 5 (but ideally 10) subscriptions before I'm willing to start because I don't want to put articles out there that don't get a lot of readers. Hmm.

I've already tried to start some writing & I fear that not having written any essays in 5 years, I'm very out of practice. I was a great writer back in college! I had to write long essays constantly & plenty of it was analyzing things as I'm trying to do now! I'm just hoping I can create some coherent, interesting material. We shall see! :-)

BN9!  Thanks!! :-) Great! Yes, it will be a Nice start right at the start of a new year!! :-) And this will give you some time as well, to get more subscriptions!! I Hope you Will get at least 5 Hopefully A Lot More!! I can understand that you don't want to put articles out there that don't get a lot of readers!!! I'm Hoping will Will get at least 10 or more subscriptions!! Maybe you can make some blog posts on the Sites you belong to such as BAR etc telling members that you're doing this and give the link to your site for subscriptions.

I can understand you're fear because you're out of practice not having written any essays in 5 years! Maybe you can read over some of you're essays that you wrote in college to help you remember how you analyzed things. I'm Sure you Will create coherent and interesting material!! From reading things on your "Sitting On A Cornflake" Blog I was impressed and enjoyed it!! :-) Best Wishes with this my friend!! :-)

I took a break from writing too for a while and worried that I was losing my touch. That motivated me to start a blog about classic films (so did boredom, LOL!) Of course you still possess the ability to write coherent, interesting material! You've just got to have some faith in yourself! "With a little luck", I'm sure you'll go very far! :-)
