"She was 22 when she achieved instant stardom on the ABC police drama “The Mod Squad” (1968-73), one of the first prime-time series to acknowledge the existence of the hippie counterculture and an early example of multiracial casting.
The tag line — “First they got busted, then they got badges” — referred to three attractive, streetwise flower children (“One black, one white, one blonde,” as another tag line explained) who, after some trouble with the law, joined the police force and worked undercover. Ms. Lipton received four Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe Award for her performance.

I Really enjoyed that show! And at the time I had a Big Crush on her!

She was a very good actress!!

I think she dated Paul McCartney back then too? But left him for Quincy Jones. They had 2 daughters. I never watched her later show called "Twin Peaks" but have heard of it. RIP Peggy Lipton. She will be missed! :-(

"The counterculture show made her a figure of cool but - amid affairs with Paul McCartney and Elvis Presley - her memoir, Breathing Out revealed she felt "too unsure of herself" to fully enjoy her rise to fame.

She married music producer Quincy Jones in 1974 and took a career break to look after their two daughters, Rashida and Kadida.

Peggy offers no apologies for fully embracing her sexuality back during that whole “hippie” period, and in fact enjoyed her relations with Beatles singer-songwriter Paul McCartney. Although she imagined that the two of them would fall in love, the reality was their “relationship” was pretty much limited to a couple of sexual encounters while the British band was in California on their world tours".

I never seen her later show called "Twin Peaks". But, I've heard of it too.
