R.I.P. Anita Ekberg! Sad! :-( I know she was famous in a lot of movies! But, I enjoyed her in these:
Paris Holiday, Abbott and Costello Go to Mars, and Call Me Bwana. ;-)
Yes, I enjoyed her in "Abbott and Costello Go To Mars". That's probably my favorite film of theirs!
A funny spoof of the sci-fi genre. I Love them!
Wow, Beatlebob! Are you a classic movie buff too? I noticed you recently mentioned these movies...
"Paris Holiday", "Call Me Bwana", "Mulholland Drive", "Hit the Deck", "Watch the Birdie", "Room Service", and more...
Some of those films I haven't seen yet or even heard of! I'm impressed!!
Miss Retro is also impressing me, by posting pictures of a few actresses that I'm not too familiar with!
I thought I was the queen of classic cinema but now I feel competition with you two! Just kidding! LOL! ;-)
It's always sad when somebody you like goes off to rest in peace. But at least she made it up to 83! Wow!
I think this is a lovely picture! :-)
"Abbott and Costello Go To Mars" IS a Very Funny Spoof of the Sci-Fi genre!! I Love that movie!! LOL! :-)
Yes, I Enjoy Classic Movies!! I'm not a Classic Movie Buff like You are! :-) But, seeing the Pictures posted here by You and Miss Retro reminded me of some of the Movies I enjoyed by these Actresses! I haven't seen them all of course that these actresses performed in. Just some that I remembered seeing and enjoyed! :-)
I'm Surprised that You haven't seen some of those movies I mentioned!! But, I'm Impressed that You know So Much about Classic Cinema!!! And Classic Movie Stars!! YOU Sure are a Classic Movie Buff!!! :-)
I'm also Impressed by the pictures Miss Retro posts here of a few actresses I'm not too familiar with too! I heard of the names of them but, not all that familiar with their work.
Re: "I thought I was the queen of classic cinema but now I feel competition with you two! Just kidding! LOL! ;-)"
LOL!!!!!!!!!! You Certainly Shouldn't feel any competition with Me!! You're the Queen of Classic Cinema here as far as I'm concerned!! ;-)
Yes, I agree that it always saddens us when somebody we like passes!!! But, she did live a full life up to 83! This IS a Lovely Picture of her!! Thanks again for posting it!! :-)
Well I actually have seen "Hit The Deck", "Room Service", and "Paris Holiday". The other films you mentioned I haven't gotten around to yet. I've heard of some though! Aww, thanks. I'm glad I don't have to worry about losing my classic cinema crown anytime soon. Nor my veil as Mrs. Nelson. LOL! ;-)
Oh, so you did see Those movies!! :-) "Call Me Bwana" was a comedy with Bob Hope that Anita Ekberg was in. "Mulholland Drive" was a film from 2001 with Ann Miller. And "Watch the Birdie" was a comedy starring Red Skelton with Ann Miller. ;-) You might like them.
You're Welcome!!! Sadie the Queen of Classic Cinema!! :-) You Sure Don't have to worry about losing your classic cinema crown anytime soon!! Nor your veil as Mrs. Nelson! LOL!!!! ;-)
Hopefully the Cars song you mentioned on the front page will get Candy O Back Here!!! ;-)
I'm getting worried about her!! Where is She? :-(
Well "Mulholland Drive" isn't exactly a classic movie, if it's from 2001? I'd still check it out though! I'm actually a big movie buff in general, but I'm especially interested in the classics!
I pretty much enjoy watching anything that seems interesting! Regardless of genre, year, actors, etc...
I even enjoyed "Frozen"... guess I'm easily entertained like a child! LOL!
I am growing concerned over Ann's (Candy O, not Ann Miller, LOL!) abstinence, as well!
And for the future of this site and our Beatles one! Without an administrator around to maintain the sites, there will be no monthly layout theme changes, no banning advertisement spam bots, etc... if she never returns! :-(
I know what you mean about "Mulholland Drive" not being a classic movie being it was 2001. It's just one of the movies I seen with her in it. ;-) I Know that you're a big movie buff in general, but especially interested in the classics!! :-) Like what I seen on your "Classic Cinema Central" site! BTW...I Really Like the Movie Poster you posted of "Mr. Smith goes to Washington"!! Great Picture and a Great Movie!! :-)
I pretty much enjoy watching anything that seems interesting too!! But, I'll especially check out movies that have actors that I Really Like. Those movies "Usually" are good for me.
LOL!! Hey, my Mother enjoys good animated movies such as "Finding Nemo". Nothing wrong with that. ;-) Glad you Enjoyed "Frozen"!! :-)
re: " Not Ann Miller" LOL!!
I Sure know what you mean!! It's not like BeatleGirl to be away for a long time without saying something about it in advance. :-( I Hope she is Alright!! And Hope she Returns Soon!!!
I also am concerned about BOTH sites without her being here to do ALL of the things you mentioned!! I was going to start making up new banners for next month's theme changes for BAR when I have the time. I don't know what to do till I see her return? The main thing is I Hope she is Alright!!!!!
Lets Hope she returns Soon!!!
There are no birthdays today
