It was interesting to see John Wayne play a different character other than the typical cowboy roles he's best known for. It's the first classic movie I could find that fits for St. Patrick's Day! I have classic movies for every other holiday. LOL!

Yes, I usually associate John Wayne with his trademark Western and War roles.

It was interesting to see him play a different character for a change.

She looked even more gorgeous in color in that film! I recently saw her onstage speech at an awards show, introduced by Clint Eastwood and she still looked alright for being age 94! Wow! I just now found out her and "The Duke" did multiple movies together! I actually didn't have a classic movie for New Years until the other day either, when I watched "The Apartment" on Netflix. It had both Christmas and New Year's Eve scenes. That's also where I saw "The Quiet Man". I should make a list of classic movies I watch on each holiday for my blog! That'd be interesting! There's not enough classic movies on Netflix and Hulu Plus instant streaming to satisfy my classic cinema addicted self, so I'm planning on joining Warner Archive Instant again in a few days. I enjoyed The Apartment! Have you ever heard of a movie called The Wackiest Ship In The Army? With Jack Lemmon? I love it! I enjoyed The Quiet Man too! Have you ever seen or heard of Rio Bravo? That's my favorite John Wayne movie! I heard about the blizzards on the news today too. Well if there's a snow storm it will give me an excuse to stay inside and have a classic movie marathon! LOL! ;-)

I saw Debbie Reynolds receive a Lifetime Achievement award at the Screen Actors Guild last night. It's amazing how some classic actors over age 90 are still around and able to make public appearances! I'm just pushing 30 and already feel so old and tired! LOL!

Yes, I do remember The Wackiest Ship in the Army! Of Course you liked that movie!!! Ricky Nelson was in it!!! ;-) The movie Mr. Roberts was good too!! Both were Funny! :-) Yes, I seen Rio Bravo. LOL!! Another movie with Ricky Nelson!!! :-D It was a Good movie, I enjoyed it too!! Walter Brennan Cracked Me Up in that movie!! LOL! Always loved when he played those kinds of parts in movies! ;-)

The Blizzard didn't turn out as bad as they were predicting in our area anyway. I'm Glad for that!! We got around 9 inches here. Still messy out there though!!

What a Mess with Me This Morning!!!!!!! :-( When I woke up I had my socks on and went to grab the remote controls for my TV. I don't know how it happened?? But, I turned and slipped and fell backwards onto the edge of my computer desk and into my metal filing cabinet then to the floor!!!!! I was in So Much Pain, it was Horrible!! Took a while for me to get up!!!! And when I got up I just was leaning against my computer table in Severe pain!! My Back is Still Killing me!!! I didn't want to call an ambulance to go to the ER!! I just didn't want to stay strapped to a gurney in the hallway towards the ER for a day or two!! That's how it is there at the Hospital!! It's Always Packed like that!! And you wait there forever before you even get into the ER room. Then it takes forever before anything gets done!! It's a Nightmare!! I just hope I didn't break a couple of ribs or something!!! It hurts when I breathe in deep, try to walk or sit, or if I reach for something!! So, I'm Hurting Pretty Bad!! I'm waiting for Tomorrow morning to make an appointment with the Doctor. By then the streets and sidewalks should be a lot better cleaned up by the snow. I couldn't try to climb over a little mountain of snow etc!! Will take a cab. I imagine they will give me a prescription to have some x-rays done at the hospital. Then I'll take a cab there. But, at least I wouldn't have to wait in the ER to get the X-Rays!! Will go right to the radiology department. This SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! :-( I'm Hurting Bad and can't do anything!! And Hoping I didn't break any ribs or something!! Will find out tomorrow or the next day depending on when I can get to both the Doctor and when I can get the X-Rays done!! Will see??

Just wanted to let you know. I'm Sure I won't be online tomorrow!! And probably not Thursday either!? Will catch up with you as soon as I can!!! Will catch up with the rest of your comments you have here about Maureen O'Hara when I'm back online again!!! Can't sit here any longer, in Pain!!!! Will catch up as soon as I can!!! I really hope nothing is seriously wrong with you! And for that to happen on a snow day when it's difficult to go out to the hospital is even worse! If you're still in alot of pain from that fall, you should be seen as soon as possible! Weren't you just at the doctor's office the other day? Well it looks like they'll be seeing you yet again! LOL! Be careful!

Walter Brennan always cracks me up too, especially with that laugh! He was the funniest character on The Real McCoys TV show! Lmao! I have both Rio Bravo and The Wackiest Ship In The Army on DVD! I love those movies! Especially because Ricky looks even better in color! I said that about Maureen O'Hara too! You should watch that video I linked! She looks alright for her age, eventhough she's in a wheelchair. Well I'm gonna go now, so take care!

Comment by BeatleBob on January 30, 2015 at 11:51am: Sorry it took long to get back to you my friend!! Thank You for your concern!! Yes, it was Horrible that it happened on a bad snow day to boot!! I tried calling my Doctor Wednesday morning a few times. They open at 8:30 AM. I kept getting a message saying to call on their regular office hours!! WTF?? I found out way later in the day that the office was closed till 10:30 because of the snow. But, I didn't know that at the time! What I did do after getting that stupid message many times after calling my Doctor's office, was calling an "Urgent Care Center" and they said they accept my insurance. So, I took a cab there. They examined me which HURT like Hell!! Then, they took 4 X-Rays. I waited for the Doctor to come back in the examining room and she told me after looking at the X-Rays that I don't have any broken bones!! And no sign of internal bleeding!! Thank Goodness!! But, from the bad fall I had that I have internal bruising and trauma. She said to use a heating pad and take it easy and it should start feeling better in a couple of weeks. The pain is real bad and I can hardly do anything and have a hard time sleeping at all!! I'm taking Aleve to try to help the pain.

The thing that worries me is that when my Mother had her Bad Fall the X-Rays showed the same thing as mine did. After suffering with no improvement for a couple of weeks she went to her Doctor that set her up with an Orthopedic Doctor that sent her for an MRI, and that's when she found out she had Compression Fractures! They don't show up on regular X-Rays! But who knows?? What I'll do is wait a little over a week and see how I'm doing. If no improvement at all or if I feel worse, I'll call my Doctor and go the same route to get an MRI done! Hopefully that won't be the case though!! Hopefully this will start getting better within a couple of weeks!!! It SUCKS!!! I'm in A Lot of Pain and I can't do anything right now!! I have to force myself to give Ebbie her meds and clean out her kitty litter box, Doing that Hurts me Bad!! But, my Mother can't do it. Forget about doing the Laundry etc for now. I'll TRY on Wednesday or after. And for stuff we need from the stores, will have to make an order and have them deliver it for now. Sorry for rambling on!! LOL! :-( Just wanted to let you know what's happening! The pain is Driving me Nuts!! Hopefully I'll start getting some relief soon!!
