"Happy Days" actress has died at only age 56.

I didn't know this happened. So Sad!!! And she was only 56. :-(
Erin Moran, the former child actor who played the sweet but mischievous Joanie on the television series “Happy Days” and “Joanie Loves Chachi,” has died. She was 56.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department in southern Indiana confirmed her death. She was found unresponsive on Saturday afternoon, and the authorities said an autopsy was pending. :-(
Ms. Moran started acting at 5, and got her first taste of television in a commercial for First Federal Bank. She went on to play minor characters in television and film in the late 1960s and early ’70s. At 12, she landed her biggest role: Joanie, the freckle-faced troublemaker and sister of Richie Cunningham, the all-American teenager played by Ron Howard.
Over the 10-year run of “Happy Days,” Joanie transformed from the young teenager who complained about being sent to her room to a major character on the show. In later seasons, Joanie’s love interest with the aspiring musician Chachi Arcola became a major story line.
In 1982, the two characters were given their own show, “Joanie Loves Chachi,” a widely panned comedy that followed their romantic adventures and musical pursuits in Chicago. While “Happy Days” was a No. 1 hit, the spinoff with Ms. Moran and Scott Baio, who played Chachi, lasted only 17 episodes.
The end of the show also ushered in a swift downfall for Ms. Moran’s acting career and her opportunities in Hollywood. She was only 22 when the show ended, but despite minor appearances on other shows, she never held another leading role.
After the shows were over, Ms. Moran opened up about the downsides of growing up on the screen and under the Hollywood spotlight. She said that shortly before her 15th birthday, producers on “Happy Days” began to pressure her to watch what she ate and to wear more revealing outfits. “They suddenly wanted me to lose weight and become this sexy thing,” she said in an interview in 1983.
In the mid-1980s, Ms. Moran swore off Hollywood and left Los Angeles for a home in the California mountains. In an interview with The Toronto Star in 1988, she said she suffered from depression after the two television series ended and acting offers dried up.
“I wanted time off to reassess my life and career,” Ms. Moran told the newspaper. “I had to ask myself, ‘Do I really want to keep doing this, or do I want to sit back and take it easy for five years, 10 years?”
Erin Marie Moran was born in Burbank, Calif., on Oct. 18, 1960, and raised in North Hollywood with five siblings. She was the second youngest child of Sharon and Edward Moran. Her father was a finance manager. Her mother encouraged her acting career and signed her up with an agent at age 5.
Before playing Joanie, Ms. Moran played an orphan on the show “Daktari” and a daughter on “The Don Rickles Show.”
RIP Erin Moran :-(
Hey Beatlebob! It's great to hear from you again! I'm glad you enjoyed all the Easter pictures I posted and hope you had a good one too! I remember hearing a few years ago rumors about Joannie Cunningham being broke, homeless, and living in a trailer park. So I wasn't too surprised when I heard about her death, although she was only 56! I read today that it was most likely due to cancer. Very sad! I thought Carrie Fisher was still too young to die at only age 60! Thanks for posting some more information about Erin Moran. Did you get a new TV yet? Good luck with that! I still have the old TV's that are not flat screen, "smart" or "HD". Hopefully you can find one that's affordable and works alright for you! Keep me updated on that! Have a good day! :-)
Hey Sadie! It's Great to hear from you again too!! :-) I Loved the Easter Pictures you posted!! Thanks again for posting them! Thanks, my Easter was blah as usual. Just another day for me. LOL!! ;-) Hope you had a Nice Easter!! WOW!!! I didn't know that she was broke, homeless, and was living in a trailer park. If those rumors you heard were true, that's Sad!! :-( Yes, after hearing about that I'm sure you weren't too surprised when you heard about her death!! Sad that it most likely was due to cancer!! :-( I guess that was the reason she passed away at only age 56. Sad!! :-( I also, thought Carrie Fisher was still too young to die at only age 60 too!! :-( You're Welcome for posting more information about Erin!! I remember we were talking about Don Rickles not that long ago. And Erin Moran played a daughter on “The Don Rickles Show.” Really Something! Very Sad!! :-(
No, I still didn't get a new TV yet. Still looking at reviews etc, they don't make TV's like they used to!! Like the old TV's that are not flat screen, "smart" or "HD". The new ones like those have many problems and don't last long!! And the smaller size ones like I need to fit in my bedroom have poor reviews! So, still doing research! I'm Glad that your old Non Flat Screen TV is still working!! I wish mine was Still working too!! I Loved it!! I'm Not happy with having to buy one of these Flat Screen TV's!! But, that's all they offer these days! :-( Will see? Thanks for wishing me Good Luck on finding one that's affordable and works alright!!! Will keep you updated on this!! I have to see my Urologist this Friday again, and have to get another cystascope exam! Not looking forward to that!!! Oh what FUN!!! LOL!! :-( I Hope Everything is going Alright with You!!! Thanks!! You have a Good Day Too, My Friend!!! :-)
Hey Sadie! Well, I finally ordered a new TV. It should arrive today or tomorrow. I Hope it will be a Good one and work Alright!! It's a Flat Screen TV, a 2015 model. And it's NOT a Smart TV. LOL! I didn't want a Smart TV! Will see how it works out? I'll keep you posted!!
I watched the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction on HBO this past Saturday Night!! I Really Enjoyed it!! Jeff Lynne and his ELO touring band did a Great job doing a Tribute to Chuck Berry playing "Roll Over Beethoven"!! Then they shown a short history about Chuck Berry. And a couple of quick clips of John Lennon and Paul McCartney talking about Chuck were included too. I Really Enjoyed that!! Dhani Harrison introduced Jeff Lynne and told a short story about George and Jeff Lynne, and when Dhani seen ELO in concert. It was the First Time Dhani seen a Rock and Roll Concert!! Then Gave the Award to Jeff Lynne For ELO!! Jeff Lynne and his ELO touring band did a Great Job on a few songs of theirs!! I also, enjoyed "YES", they sounded Fantastic Too!! I also, enjoyed Joan Baez, and the history about her. Had to sit through Tupac Shakur and Rap Shit!!! :-( Pearl Jam and Nile Rodgers were Pretty Good!! I enjoyed Rush's Geddy Lee when he played bass with Yes on "Roundabout" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart." I enjoyed "Journey" too. It was a pretty good show!!!! Enjoyed ELO and YES the best!!! I Hope you can see it!!!!
Have a Happy MAY My Friend!!!!! Hope to catch up with you soon!!! :-)
I found a few :
:-)
Hey Beatlebob! Omg!! Thanks for posting all that stuff about the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame! Looks like it was a great show! (Except for the rap stuff! Sorry you had to sit through that part!) Who is Nile Rodgers? I don't think I know. I enjoyed all the videos and information you shared! Thanks again! I'm glad you are getting a new TV soon! Hopefully it will work well and not be too confusing! I probably wouldn't even know how to turn on one of those stupid "smart" TV's! LOL!!!! I didn't know that Happy Days girl was on “The Don Rickles Show”. But I've never seen that. I've only seen his celebrity "roasts". I didn't even know he had a sitcom too! It's good to hear from you. Have a good month of May, my friend! :-)
Hey Sadie! Sorry it took so long to get back to you! Been busy and finally got a new TV.
You're Welcome this stuff about the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame!!! :-) Yeah, it was a pretty good show!! And yes, Except for that Rap Crap!!! LOL! I was Sorry I had to sit through that part of the show too!!
I found this about Nile Rodgers. I guess he was inducted for Producing and collaboration with various artists.
Nile Rodgers' talents as a musician, songwriter and producer.
From his disco beginnings as co-founder of Chic , here's a very brief trip through super-producer Nile Rodgers' long history of hit-making.
Diana Ross – I'm Coming Out (1980) David Bowie – Let's Dance (1983) Madonna – Like A Virgin (1984) Duran Duran – The Reflex (1984) B52s – Roam (1990) and others.
I'm Glad you enjoyed the videos and information I posted!!! You're Very Welcome!
Yes, I finally got a new TV. But, I had a lot of problems setting it up!! I had to call my cable TV provider's tech support to help me try to get it working with my cable box. It took him a long time to figure it out too!! But, I got it working. And it's Not Even a SMART TV!! LOL! It's a 2015 model that's Not a Smart TV.
re"I probably wouldn't even know how to turn on one of those stupid "smart" TV's! LOL!!!!"
LOL!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't either!! And I'm Glad it's Not a Smart TV!!! I had enough trouble trying to get it to work even though it's a Dumb TV!! LOL!! ;-) After I got it working I noticed the picture was washed out on a lot of channels. And Blurry and pixilated too! I guess because I was using it with my old SD cable box. It's a HDTV. So, I called tech support again and they said it would be a lot better if they sent me a HD cable box. I got it a few days ago. Hooked it up and I couldn't get it to work with the TV!! :-( I had to call tech support again to have them walk me through getting it to work! The picture is much better now! But, I sure had to go through a lot of things to finally get this TV to work!!! :-( Now I have to return my Old Cable Box and Remote Control to my Cable Company. Otherwise I'll be charged for a Cable Box!!! Will have to take a cab to a FEDEX Place to return it to the cable company. It had a pre -paid label in the box. The cable company is Very Far Away to bring it back in person. The FEDEX place isn't that close either, but much closer than the cable company is!! It's all packed up and ready to be shipped back to them. What a pain in the butt all of this has been!!!! But, at least I have a TV again.
I didn't know Don Rickles had a sitcom too!!! LOL! I only seen his celebrity "roasts" and seen him on a few shows like "The Johnny Carson Show". So, I never seen “The Don Rickles Show” either.
Thanks!!!! It's Good to hear from You again!!!! I Hope You have a Good Month of May Too, My Friend!!! :-) Hope we can catch up soon!!! :-)
Beatlebob, thanks for telling me who Nile Rodgers is. I think I only know 2 songs from the group called "Chic". "Good Times" and "Le Freak". That's cool he was involved in all those hit songs by other popular artists too! All this digital age technology confuses me so much too! It's a shame they don't even sell standard TV's in stores anymore, just those flat screen smart ones. They are ridiculously overpriced, often have problems and don't last as long as the old ones.
I got my TV's used from thrift stores, yard sales, and a neighbor's garbage can and they have lasted me for decades! I'm too retro and low income to upgrade to more modern replacements! LOL!!!
It's good to finally catch up with you. Sorry I haven't been online much lately. I've been busy with all my doctor appointments this month, etc... I'm not sick or anything. I'm just getting regular routine exams, etc...
Do you still feel sick lately? Are you going to appointments too? Hope you're doing alright!
Have a good May!!! :-)
Sadie, You're Welcome for telling you who Nile Rodgers is!! I think those are only the two songs I remember from the group called "Chic" too!! LOL! Yes, it is Cool that he was involved in all those hit songs by other popular artists too!! A Very Talented person! The same for me with all this digital age technology!!! It all confuses me too!! I know, I wish they still sold standard TV's in stores!!! But, they don't make them anymore, which is a Shame!! You're So Right about the new ones being overpriced, and often have problems, and don't last as long as the old ones. :-(
You got your TV's from thrift stores, yard sales, and a neighbor's garbage can. A neighbor's garbage can?Really? That's Cool that it worked good and you didn't have to pay anything for it!!! :-) I see the Old ones have lasted you for decades! They Sure don't make them like those anymore!!! The Old Tube TV's lasted almost forever without breaking down!!! I was looking on Craig's List for old used TV's before I got the new one. But, didn't have any luck finding one that wasn't too far away from me! :-( Yeah, I'm too retro and low income to upgrade to more modern replacements too!!! LOL!! But, I needed a TV and had to put it on the credit card! :-(
It's So Good to Finally catch up with You too!!!!! I'm also, Sorry I haven't been online much lately too!! I see you've been busy with a lot of Doctor appointments this month.
