LOL has anyone else ever heard of this yet? Neil Young designed it. I think it looks cool, but the hefty price tag ain't! Besides, I've had so many MP3 players that have broken down on me (about 10 of them!) including one that was an Apple iPod, I'm not sure if I should buy those things ever again! And besides, standalone MP3 players aren't really that necessary anymore now that smartphones play music. :-)

Neil Young's "Pono" Mini Music System

Thanks for the Link Sadie!! :-) First time I've heard of this! Cool!! Yes, it's a Hefty Price!! But, the reason behind this is because all the downloaded MP3's are so Compressed you lose the Sound Quality of the Original Recording of the Song!! That pisses off a lot of Music Artists and a lot of listeners too!

"Sound quality, in the form of high-resolution audio.

“We’re trying to bring the feeling back to music, the goose bumps,” Young told the audience. “We want you to feel the love in the music. It’s not about bits; it’s about recreating the artist’s vision.”

Pono engineers worked with the original analog master recordings to convert tracks into the Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) digital format, using a sampling rate of 24 bits at 192 kHz. At that sampling rate, a three-minute tune will consume a whopping 150 megabytes of storage, or about 25 times more than traditional MP3s, said Pedram Abrari, executive vice president of technology for PonoMusic.

The Pono store will sell only FLAC files, but the player will also support the Apple Lossless Audio Codec, as well as WAV, AAC, and MP3 formats. "

But, it IS way Too Pricey!!! :-(  WOW!! You had a lot of MP3 Players break down on you! :-(
