Hey Beatlebob! Good to hear from you again! I was wondering why you weren't online all weekend. Thanks for letting me know what's been going on with you. Like I said before, thanks for taking the time to keep in touch eventhough you've been busy. No need to apologize! I appreciate the fact that you even stopped by for a second. Looking forward to catching up more when you have the time. :-)

Wow! That sucks how you have to go through all that trouble every year with Medicaid. Hopefully it will be re-certified. At least you know there's another option if unfortunately things don't work out as expected. I understand why you don't like the idea of joining a Senior Center and getting help from someone else. Hopefully you won't have to resort to that. Let me know what happens...

I can imagine how stressed out you both must be. I find it sad that nobody in your household is healthy! :-(

Hopefully your mother is feeling better by now and the weather will improve by the time her re-scheduled appointment in January comes around. Did she eat anything out of the ordinary or take any new medication? That could explain the upset stomach. Maybe it was just her nerves over the doctor's appointment she had on Friday. Who knows? I just hope she's better by now. :-)

Good luck with your eye doctor's appointment in January too. You might want to mention that twitchy eye problem to them. I didn't even know you currently had a cat! Did you get another one after your beloved old one passed away? Or did you always have two? Sorry if you've told me before. If so, I simply forgot. What does this cat look like and what do you call it? I think you said the one that passed away was black and named Ebbie? I had a black cat named Ebony once too! I see why you don't want to clip it's nails yourself. It's better to let a professional do that anyway. Otherwise both you and the cat could easily get hurt! Good luck with that veterinary visit as well! :-)

To be honest, I don't know much about that singer who recently passed away. I only vaguely remember seeing her perform in some musical sequences in a few classic films. I read she was known for collaborating with famed singer and then husband Louis Prima. I need to listen to more of her music, although I'm admittedly not a big fan of jazz.

As for "Warrel Dane", I read: Acclaimed heavy metal singer Warrel Dane, who achieved fame with the bands SANCTUARY and NEVERMORE, died on Wednesday (December 13) in São Paulo, Brazil. The American musician, who was in the process of making his second solo album, had a heart attack during the night and could not be revived.

I don't know who he is and never listened to either of those bands but still think that's very sad. RIP. 

And I also read this:

Acclaimed saxophone player and veteran session musician Ralph Carney has died at age 61. The news is now confirmed, which reported that Carney died as a result of head injuries sustained after falling a flight of stairs  at his home in Portland, Oregon -- and confirmed by Carney's brother, James. The sad news was also reported by Carney's nephew, the Black Keys' drummer Patrick Carney, who posted a loving tribute to his late uncle on social media. 

Another musician I'm not familiar with but wanted to share my condolences because it's also a sad story! RIP.

I really enjoyed hearing "Marcia Brady" Maureen McCormick talk about David Cassidy. That part is at 37:23 by the way. It made me tear up but also glad to see some pics and clips of him. I see you read that Samantha Fox issued somewhat of an apology on her official Twitter page over her recent remarks about David Cassidy. I agree why you're still upset about it!! It was in Bad Taste to discuss those incidents so soon after his passing!! And also, it didn't make much sense at all considering she was also a slutty looking singer with a hit song called "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)" and her name even sounds like a porn star!!! LMAO!!!!! I didn't know that!!! No, she shouldn't have made those remarks in the first place considering the way she is!!! LOL!!! I agree with you, I think she Was jumping on the sexual harassment bandwagon to push her new book, as well as craving attention!!!! :-(

You're Welcome for the information about The Smithereens!! Yeah, I thought that was awesome too that they made tribute albums to The Beatles and Who!! I didn't know that until I found that info!! If you check those out, let me know how they were!! I see you also, heard someone named Warrel Dane just died. That's also another musician I've never heard of too. Yes, RIP to him too!

Uh Oh!!! I see you realized that your ID card already expired 2 weeks ago on your birthday!!! YES, you need to get a new one as soon as possible!!! Yeah, I'm Glad that my driver's license still has a little while longer before expiring!!! You're Right, New York's DMV offices are Always very busy!!! Takes hours on lines to get anything done!!! :-( I Hope the one's by you aren't as bad!! I see you also chose to get a regular identification card instead of a license since you currently have no car either!! No point in getting a driver's license!! I think mine expires every 6 years or so too. Yes I agree, a trip to the DMV once a decade is enough! LOL!!!!! ;-) I Hate that place too!!! I see you still need to find a new coat! Thanks for letting me know about last night (Monday) that ABC was giving a one hour special called "The Year in Memoriam", a celebration of the legendary stars and icons who passed away during 2017. When I was briefly on here Yesterday I quickly read what you wrote here and saw that!! I Did Watch it!! :-) Thanks to you!!! I see on the next page Here you missed it, and posted the Video!! From what you said, I see why it would be so hard seeing all those people, especially David Cassidy on there!!! I Know that one affected you the Most!!!!! :-( I'm So Sorry you even vomited on Thanksgiving from all the crying while eating and hardly slept for a week!!! :-( I Know His death hit you like a ton of bricks!!! And you was still very saddened by Tom Petty's passing only a month earlier!! :-( I was Very saddened by Tom Petty's and David Cassidy's passing away too!!!! :-( But, I Know David's passing Hit You VERY HARD!!!! :-(

YES!!!!! We Both couldn't be any happier to finally say good riddance to 2017!!! We Both had many personal problems this year!! Yes, I know yours was mostly all the trouble of moving into a new place that you had in the beginning of the year!! And yes, my Mother unfortunately had several health problems!!! And Yes, there was also so much tragedy like hurricanes, mass shootings, etc. and of course Trump being our new President!!! Plus so many famous people passed away this year too!!! So Many Sad And Awful things happened in 2017!!!! And yeah, to top everything off Ann stopped talking to us!! I know what you mean!!! It's almost Unbelievable!!!!! What an all around AWFUL year!!!! Yes, around 4 months after my beloved old one passed away, we went to the ASPCA and got a new cat!! I'm Sure I must have told you about that before! Maybe you simply forgot. The cat's name is Hailey. But, we just call her Baby! LOL! She's a gray Tabby. With stripes. :-) She's very Cute!! Yes, our previous cat that passed away was black and named Ebbie. I think I remember you telling me you also had a black cat named Ebony once too!! Well, the reason why I don't clip her nails is that she won't let me!! She was rescued from a Cat Hoarder's House with around 100 other cats!! She's Very Moody and gets very scared sometimes!! When I tried cutting her nails she was going wild and Scratched the Hell out of me!! Blood and Cuts all over me!!! I even had to go get a Tetanus shot!! I Won't try that again with Her!! It's just the way she is!! The odd thing is, when I bring her to the Vet to get her nails clipped she lays there like a lump and lets them do anything to her!! LOL!! The Vet told me she's not on her home turf, when there. When she's at home, if she doesn't want something like that done to her, she will let me know!! And she Sure Did!!! LOL!! She is usually very skittish!! Because of her Horrible time she was at the Cat Hoarder's House!! I heard it was Horrible there!!! But, sometimes she's very loving!!! She's just so Moody!! She's Not feral, but, just very moody and skittish!! We put up with her because we Love her!! Thanks for the Good Luck with the veterinary visit as well!! :-)

I'm glad I reminded you to watch that "Year In Memoriam" special.
That's great you caught it when it was on TV.
I figured you'd enjoy seeing it again, so I shared that YouTube video.
I am relieved that the David Cassidy part wasn't as sad as I expected it to be.
I actually enjoyed it! It was interesting to hear Maureen McCormick say that she didn't watch her own show, The Brady Bunch, but watched The Partridge Family instead.

Yes, I shared 50 pictures for Christmas this year.
They are in 2 separate posts of 25 photos each. Sorry if it's a bit too much! I have even more than that but decided 50 was enough. LOL!!! Like I said before, no need to comment on every single one. Just a few would be fine! Thanks for letting me know that the slideshow feature really isn't working anymore and it's not just me. That sucks because the main reason I posted those photos was for the front page slideshow... and also because I want to try and make the most of this site before it possibly expires soon in January! I got scared when I recently visited Retro Sugar and the Beatles site very early in the morning around 7 AM and they were both temporarily down!! But I think it was just Ning doing regular routine maintenance? They came back in about an hour but it was still scary nonetheless!

Now that you mention that rescue from a crowded home with many cats, I think I do remember you saying that you got a new cat after Ebony the black one sadly passed away. Eventhough your current cat still has a few understandably erratic behavioral problems, I think it's great, that she's found a good safe new home with you. I know some stuff about Veterinary science and it's true what that vet said. Animals can act very differently and more obedient in places like the vet's office than when around people they know or in familiar environments, like at home. At least she dosen't give them a hard time over there when they groom her. Hopefully the nail clipping session will be quick and not too uncomfortable for her! I never understood those crazy people who hoard animals like that. It's so sad and selfish! Who needs 100 cats?? Ridiculous!!!! Unfortunately most of those animal rescue stories don't have such happy endings, so it's good to hear yours. That was sweet of you to adopt that striped gray tabby, Hailey AKA Baby! :-)

So how have YOU been, my friend? Glad to hear your mother is feeling better now. I hope the same goes for you! Good luck with Medicaid!!!

Heather North, Voice Of Daphne On Scooby-Doo, Has Died At 71

I actually know who that is. She was probably more well known for her voice work, but was also an actress. I remember her starring in a Monkees episode once. Scooby Doo was always one of my favorite cartoons and Daphne was my favorite character from it. RIP.

I always appreciate what you say too. Thanks for making me feel better about not being the only one who doesn't have much on the holidays. I always have a "Blue Christmas" just like the Elvis song. And this year I feel extra blue! But I hope YOU have a great Christmas weekend!!! Talk to you soon!! :-)

Well, I'm usually feeling lousy with my stomach and back problems, along with my problems with my prostate. But, I'm dealing with it, and hanging in there!!! All I can do!! Thanks for asking!!! Thanks for looking at all 50 of my Christmas pictures! It would've been better if the slideshow feature was still here, but oh well. I wonder how it disappeared? Maybe it was Ann the administrator who took it down, or perhaps the Ning network itself who disabled that particular feature. Either way I still miss it so much! And I'm really going to miss this site and the Beatles one if anything unfortunately happens to them in 2018! :-(

Omg! What a sad situation those poor cats were suffering in!!! Some of them were even DEAD!!! That breaks my heart to hear stories like that! It made me laugh though, when you said Hailey AKA Baby fits right in with you and your mother, because of her mood swings. LMAO!!!

The original Scooby Doo is one of my favorite cartoons ever. I even got Casey Kasem's autograph back in 2001. I was saddened to hear of his passing a few years ago. Other than being the voice of "Shaggy", I was a fan of his radio work too.

Hey Sadie! Have been busy the last few days. I just got done with Laundry FUN and wanted to catch up with you! We were supposed to bring Hailey to the Vet today to get her nails clipped. But, it has been raining hard today and is supposed to be raining all day. I didn't want to bring her in the pouring rain so I canceled the appointment and will bring her another day. I tried calling Medicaid on Thursday and Friday, and couldn't get any answers about my Medicaid Re-Cert! It was Horrible!!! I called a number and had to wait long and finally a person was available to talk to me. They couldn't help me and gave a another phone number to try. I called that number and the Same Thing happened!! And the same thing happened over and over again!!! It was So Frustrating!! I spent many hours going through that Crap with them!!! Then I tried again on Friday with a different phone number and went through the very same thing for many hours and couldn't get any answers again!!! Those people were ALL Idiots, or just didn't want to be bothered to try to find some answers for me!! Either way, it was a FUN Filled two days on the phone!! I'm going to have to try again next week sometime!! Hopefully one of the people I talk to, with have some answers for me!!! So DAMN Frustrating!! :-(

I see the original Scooby Doo is one of your favorite cartoons ever! WOW!! That's So COOL you got Casey Kasem's autograph back in 2001. I Really Liked Casey Kasem!! Yeah, I too was saddened to hear of his passing a few years ago!! :-( I was a fan of his radio work too!! And seeing him on TV!!!

I thought this was Cool!!! In 1964, Kasem had a minor hit single called "Letter From Elaina". A spoken-word recording, it told the story of a girl who met George Harrison after a San Francisco concert.

In 1964 then radio Disc Jockey Casey Kasem of KYA Radio in San Francisco released a spoken word recording about a letter he recieved from a girl who's desire was to meet The Beatles. This was the prelude to the American Top 40 "Long Distance Dedication" feature on the sindicated show some six years later.

Actress known for her roles as Louisa Von Trapp in the 1965 film "The Sound of Music" and Jessica 6 in the TV series "Logan's Run" and being married to actor Robert Urich.

She passed away at age 68.

I haven't seen that movie in a long time but I used to love it!! I think I remember hearing about another kid from The Sound Of Music dying a few years ago too? Sad news!

Hope you had a good Christmas! I didn't. :-(
I started feeling sad on Christmas Eve at night time, then felt horrible all day long on Christmas.
I ended up crying myself to sleep and spent most of the whole weekend laying down.
Thanksgiving and my birthday were sad days too.
I just couldn't cheer up or get in the mood to celebrate this year.
I always feel like the holidays are more sad than regular days!
Especially this year!

Just like the "Blue Christmas" song says:

'Decorations of red, on a green Christmas tree.
Won't mean a thing if you're not here with me.'

That's exactly how I feel! Eventhough I actually had food and a few gifts this year, I still sat thinking about how most of my family never really cared about me, and of all the friendships I've lost throughout the years. Now it looks like I probably lost Ann too. Unreal! :-(
I also got sad thinking about all the people we lost this year!!!

Then I tried listening to some Christmas music on the radio but it just made me feel even worse.
I started crying when The Partridge Family version of "White Christmas" came on,
and also teared up when Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' Christmas song played too.
Ugh!!! It's like I'm always reminded of what a bad year this was, even when just trying to relax and listen to the radio.

I do feel a bit better today though, now that Christmas is finally over!
But New Years Eve is just around the corner. I hate that too!
It will be refreshing to finally start a new year but December 31 always reminds me of Rick Nelson. :-(

Another thing that makes me blue around this season is the horrible weather!
I have to stay indoors for long periods of time in the winter because I can't afford frequent public transportation, and it's too cold to walk around town like I usually do. It's now snowing in my area. I hate the winter so much!!!! It's not even January yet and I already can't wait for it to be over! LOL!!!!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience on the phone with Medicaid. I know how that is! I've tried customer service help hotlines like that before for various services and it takes forever to get a human person. Sometimes it's just all just automatic operators and answering machines that tell you to leave a message and then they never even get back to you! That's how the PayPal hotline was for me. I've also had some bad experiences while talking to real people on Amazon's hotline too. They sounded like they were from India and had horrible accents, they barely even understood what I was saying. Lmao!!! Well I hope you somehow get that problem straightened out soon. Did you take your cat to the vet yet? I bet the weather in New York is bad right now too! It's hard to go anywhere! Ugh!! Good luck with traveling to any appointments this winter! Thanks!!! Just spent the Christmas day with my Mother and talked to my niece and my sister on the phone for a good while. My Niece picked my sister up and took her home to spend Christmas there. That was Nice!! My Mother and I just relaxed and watched a few movies on TV. We just ate our TV dinners. LOL!! But, it was nice!

Hey Beatlebob! Yes, sad news about another "Heather" who passed away. I also noticed she was only in her 60s. The other 'Sound Of Music' kid I remember hearing about that died recently was named Charmian Carr, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 73. I am glad that Julie Andrews is still with us though! :-)

I read this today: Star Wars actor who played Dr Evazan in 'A New Hope' dies aged 87. RIP to him. Today is also the one year anniversary of Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher's death. :-(

I see you hate winter too! LOL!!! It was 18 degrees on Christmas day where I'm at, and on the 26th the temperature dropped down even lower to 11°F, and today it's only 6°  OMG!!! I'll definitely be staying indoors for the next few days until Friday, when I have no choice but to brave bad weather to get some things I need since the buses don't run on weekends. Ugh! I see it's blistering cold in New York too, but it's even worse over here! :-( 

Christmas music has always made me sad too! Even the old standards like Chestnuts roasting on a open fire, etc... LOL! I could never get into the holiday spirit, especially not this year!!! So glad it's over with! Can't wait for New Years Eve to be over with too! I don't have a good feeling about 2018 either, now that Ann dosen't talk to us anymore, and because the sites could finally shut down, etc... but like John & Yoko said in their Christmas song, "Let's hope it's a good one, without any fear." :-)

That's great you had a calm Christmas at home and talked to some family on the phone. Hope that health care coverage mess will be taken care of soon! I can imagine your frustration! I hate those hotlines!! Most of the time they can't even help you! Maybe you should try something else other than calling them? Do they have an office or somewhere you can go in person to talk to a real live person about your problem? Good luck with that! Eventhough it's difficult and inconvenient traveling in this weather, if there is a place that could possibly help you and it's nearby, then it's worth a shot! 

Here is my Casey Kasem autograph. I've had it since 2001. I didn't meet him in person though. I just wrote him a letter saying how I enjoyed his voice work on the Scooby Doo cartoon and his radio shows too. Much to my surprise, he sent me back 2 personalized signed photos in the mail, and for free! That was nice of him!! It was back when he was healthier and still signing autographs for people. Sadly his health really deteriorated later on. When he developed Parkinson's disease and demetia he wasn't signing autographs anymore. I was very saddened to hear of his death in 2014 but I'm glad I will always have this special item to remember him by! 

Unfortunately one of them got a bit stained somehow. Both of the pictures are signed, although the signature on the photo of him is not personalized, it's just his name, and a bit hard to read since he signed it in black marker. The cartoon one has my real life name, as I wasn't known by "Sadie" back then. LOL! I love how he wrote Shaggy's signature catchphrase "Zoinks!" on it too. So cool!!!

I'm not sure if I ever showed you that autograph before? Anyway, it's cool enough to be shared again!!! LOL! Thank you for catching up, Beatlebob! And thanks for saying that I don't have to comment back on every single one of the pictures. I don't feel like looking at Christmas stuff anymore anyway. LOL but I enjoyed them all! Looking forward to seeing your New Years Photoshops soon too!

Oh, some more Sad news about Star Wars actor who played Dr Evazan in 'A New Hope' dies aged 87. Yes, RIP to Him too! His name was Alfie Curtis. I see that today is also the one year anniversary of Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher's death. :-( And tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of Debbie Reynold's death. :-( That was so Sad that she died just one day after her daughter!! :-(
